Shine our Light

Joshua 1:8 - "Do not let this Book of the Law depart from your mouth; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you may be prosperous and successful."

I went to Student Life Camp and speaker Chad Norris (not related to Chuck Norris), was there. He talked about this verse and said that we should read the word so often that we should "smell like it" (his words, not mine!). I thought about that. Does everyone who says they are a born again Christian talk about the Law of the Lord so much that they "smell like it"? No. I mean, we can't litterally smell like the Bible, but we should read it often and meditate on it as much as we can. God says that we should follow what it says in the Bible and if we do that, we will be successfull.
Isaiah 40:31 - "But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint." (KJV)

I usually use NIV in this blog, but I used KJV for a reason. It has the word "wait" in it. Chad Norris gave this great analogy: "If you go to a resturaunt, and your waiter sits you at a table, and doesn't come back for an hour, but is "waiting" for you in the back room, is he a good waiter?" No. In this verse to wait means to make up your mind and go! Now let's use this in contex... "But they make up their mind and go upon the Lord..." Does that make sense to you? We need to go and do things for the Lord, shine our light.
