We can't back down

We talked about this in Youth Group yesterday, and a lot of this is coming from my Youth Pastor, so I want to give him credit.

2 Corinthians 1:21a - "Now it is God who makes both us and you stand firm in Christ."

I thought that it was really insightful. We need to take a stand for Christ. How many of you have taken a stand for Christ, by defending him like he's your best friend. How many friends know that you are a Christian? Those are some questions that you need to ask yourselves, this is very important. If you don't stand for Christ, how can other people come to know Him? That's why we're living. To have other people believe in Christ. So, if we don't defend our creator, what are we doing in life? Standing firm in Christ may seem hard, but you can do it with God's help, and anything with God's help for that matter. So try it. I don't know if you have watched Camp Rock 2:The Final Jam, but a song that is in there represents what should be in our heads as to standing firm in Christ (I also have to give credit to my small group leader, she is the one who thought of this). Look at these lyrics:

We can't back down
There's too much at stake
This is serious
Don't walk away
We can't pretend it's not happening
In our own backyard
Our own home plate
We've been called out
Do you hear your name?
I'm not confused
Let's win this thing
We can't back down
There's too much at stake
Don't walk away, don't walk away,
Don't walk away, yeah

Now read this again with a mindset for standing for Christ. Isn't that so cool? So remember, when you have a chance to stay firm in Christ, say to yourself "We can't back down."
