Serving Two Things

Matthew 6:24 - "No one can serve two masters. Either he will hate the one and love the other or he will be devoted to one and despise the other. You can not serve both God and money."

This verse is pretty straight forward. If you say you love God AND money, you are a hypocrite. You can't just love God partially, you have to love him with everything you have. If you guys have read my first post, it was about how we have parasites in our life. A parasite is where we think about one thing so much, that it pushes our relationship with God out of the way. Even if we say that we love two things, we only love one and hate the other (unless you like two earthly things). God and earthly things are very opposite. So, if you say you love God and earthly things, you are not telling the truth, because that can't happen. Does that make sense? The way to love God fully is to read the Bible. I can not stress that enough. When this verse says that you can not love God and money, he really means it. Do you push God out of your life because of earthly things? Or do you make God first in your life and read the Bible?
