Genesis 18: Trusting in God

It's so hard to trust in God, isn't it? God did a lot of things through people when they trusted Him. As I'm reading the Bible in a year, I'm able to see a lot of people who did amazing things through God! For example, Abraham and his wife Sarah were very old and were waiting for the promise from God that they were going to have a son. As Abraham was talking to God,

10 Then the LORD said, “I will surely return to you about this time next year, and Sarah your wife will have a son.”

Now Sarah was listening at the entrance to the tent, which was behind him. 11 Abraham and Sarah were already old and well advanced in years, and Sarah was past the age of childbearing. 12 So Sarah laughed to herself as she thought, “After I am worn out and my master is old, will I now have this pleasure?”

13 Then the LORD said to Abraham, “Why did Sarah laugh and say, ‘Will I really have a child, now that I am old?’ 14 Is anything too hard for the LORD? I will return to you at the appointed time next year and Sarah will have a son.” (Genesis 18:10-14)

I don't blame Sarah at all. To think that someone could have a baby at such an old age is hard to think about. But yet God gave her a son, and he was called Isaac. This happened numerous times. Mary gave birth to Jesus, whom was conceived by the Holy Spirit. Jesus and his disciples were able to heal many people. Jesus died for us, and was risen three days later! God uses people who have a willing heart. We need to trust Him.

That is SO much easier said than done. It is hard to think about God and trust Him in the hard times, because I have so much that I need and more. But I know that when I do trust Him, it is so rewarding because there is such a joy that comes with that  "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose." (Romans 8:28)

I pray that we will be able to trust Him this week. Go out in work, school, or wherever you are and ask Him to be able to trust Him. Let us all be changed and Fully Rely On God (FROG).
